Frequently Asked
What is detailing?
When a car is detailed, expert corrective machine polishing is used to enhance the appearance of the bodywork. It is a service for those who miss driving a brand-new car. Detailing involves restoring the car as closely as possible to its factory specifications, though with the right degree of service, we can surpass that result. In addition to attempting to achieve impossibly high levels of depth and gloss, we also seal it all in with durable ceramic coatings.
Why should I detail my car?
There are 4 main reasons why most people will get a detail.
- For new car buyers, it is a better quality, easier to clean, longer-lasting alternative to what the main dealer offers.
- For those that are getting tired of their current car who want to get back to that new car feeling without shelling out for a newer model.
- For those that see swirls marks and imperfections in the reflected sunlight and would love the finish to be perfect again.
- For those that want a super easy to clean car with the best protection, ceramic coatings are fantastic.
How often should I detail my car?
In a perfect world, we would have our car meticulously detailed and then cover it with a ceramic coating of the highest calibre. For the longevity of our ownership, after routine washing, the next step would be to perform periodic maintenance tasks every 6–12 months.
The reality is that what your car needs depends on your particular preferences, and every person has a unique perspective on their paintwork. It becomes a distinctive response for each client when this is combined with miles, storage, money, and a myriad of other issues.
I have had my paintwork corrected before but now there are swirl marks all over, what am I doing wrong?
There are generally two reasons for this. The first is that the vehicle was not corrected to an acceptable standard when done. The second reason assumes a poor wash technique. There are many places on the web that will tell you how to wash a car properly. In general sticking to a few rules when taking care of your car will go a long way.
- Do not use a sponge.
- Use a wash mitt.
- Use a shampoo that contains plenty of lubricants.
- Use a rinse bucket and wash bucket with grit guards.
- Use a car specific drying towel.
Can you get my paintwork perfect?
Hard to answer! The outcome of the painting depends on a variety of parameters, many of which are dependent on the existing state. Has the vehicle been garage-stored? What is the car’s mileage? Has the car had its paint previously? What year is the car? Every car is different, and the questions are limitless.
In general, we can perfect new cars during the first six months of ownership. Up to two years old, we can obtain about 99% from here. Older automobiles are more difficult to evaluate, however even these can have 99% of their flaws fixed with the right detail package. There are lots of factors, and the paint does have restrictions.
